Angela’s life is a humbling reminder of God's unfailing love, that Christ passionately pursues His children. Angela did not grow up in a Christian home, but she was always a seeker of truth and knew growing up there was more purpose to life than what she saw. As a young adult her family’s journey to discover truth began with the simple love of a neighbor.
Angela and her husband John were not Christians when they were first married and felt judged by people that attended church. Then, as a young couple, they moved next door to an amazing Christian family. They loved them right where they were in life, broken and messy. Their neighbors never asked too many personal questions because they just wanted them to feel loved and accepted. On a regular basis they would invite the Calabrese’s over for dinner and whenever they needed help, the family was quick to lend a hand. When John and Angela walked into their home they felt loved with a love they had never felt before and that created a burning desire obtain what that family had. This began the journey to discover a personal relationship for Angela and her family.
John and Angela moved away from that loving family in the Cleveland area to Maryland for John's job and it was in Maryland that they decided build a brand new life. God led them to a tiny little church and it was there that their lives were changed forever. Within a year they surrendered their lives to Christ and shared their new found love of Christ with their young children with the hope that their children would have a passionate relationship with Christ as well. Angela allowed Christ to begin shaping her identity. A lot has happened since then. They have had three major moves, the last landing them here in Harrison 7 years ago. With each move Angela was able to gradually let go of her former self and allow God full ownership of her life. Angela knows each move was in preparation for how God is choosing to use her family now at LifeSpring. At LifeSpring, she was able to reconcile her past with her new life. LifeSpring is all about being that neighbor that loves the lost right where they are in life and allows Christ to transform them.
Her most treasured role in life besides being a daughter of the King is being mom. She is the mom that never wanted her children to age. As her own children grow older, she appreciates and is thankful to be able to relive their younger years through serving in children’s ministry and celebrating the precious children God has entrusted her with at LifeSpring. She is very intentional to make sure every child feels safe and valued and that every child is seen and loved at LifeSpring.
Angela has a lot of energy and an ‘all in’ personality. She loves to laugh and has the energy level of a 1st grader. She desires for every child to love learning about God in a fun way, allowing the Holy Spirit to be the teacher and guide. Angela is passionate about the next generation owning their faith and living it out. On a regular basis she reminds her older students that coming to church doesn’t save you, it is only through a personal relationship with Christ. Angela partners with parents to help children become rooted in God so they flourish forever as they join God in restoring a broken world.
Through her life God displayed how He desires to use even the most ordinary of people to accomplish His very extraordinary works.
